Policy
Donation of Items to Hindu Temple Society (HTS) of Augusta
Purpose: Temple devotees at times have brought/donated/ left items at the temple premises. These include items used for decorations (altar, stage or temple), books, CD’s, pictures of deities, Moorties, tables, chairs, puja mandirs, pooja samagri, area rugs etc. The purpose of this document is to provide clear guidelines for donating items to the temple:
1. Monetary Donations:
HTS will request monetary donations from time to time for procuring various items needed for temple operations. This will be done via the HTS Newsletter, WhatsApp community, Facebook forum and oral requests during various temple poojas. Interested devotees can make donations to HTS via cash, check or Zelle. This donation will reflect on the donor’s year end receipt issued by HTS.
2. Pre-Approval Required:
All items intended for donation must be discussed and approved by the Puja Committee and the President through the Executive Committee (EC) before being brought to the temple. This donation will reflect on the donor’s year end receipt issued by HTS.
3. Unapproved Items:
Items brought to the temple without proper prior approval, even if verbally approved by another devotee, committee member, or priest, will be considered private. They may be removed from the premises, and no receipts will be issued.
4. Do Not Hinder Darshan:
Please do not donate or bring any items that may obstruct or hinder the darshan of the deities. Clear and unobstructed access to the sanctum is of utmost importance.
This policy was approved by the EC of the HTS at the 1/12/2025 meeting.
